Very sympathetic to trans people. Unlike most , I have met several in the years of attending 12 step meetings. I am however absolutely not willing to consider administering drugs, not to mention surgery or amputations to minors. Many are coming from broken families, suffering emotionally, have psychological problems and are desperately trying to fit someplace, get some approval, and want to please. Their brains are not fully developed. That is why we do not execute them when they commit capital crimes. Prison terms for adults conducting these procedures are fine with me. I hope the the kids who change later in life their minds about their surgeries can sue. The absurdity of a society where you commit a crime by giving 13 year old a glass of a red wine but not for cutting her breast off is manifest. Finally, how do you decide if the adults involved are not out to satisfy their own psychological and ideological needs by convincing these kids?

You need to have on experts who talk about the real health implications of transing children, such as Drs. William Malone, Marcus Evans, Michael Laidlaw, and Michael Biggs. It is beyond believable that the Trans Cult has so much power that the obvious extreme risks of halting puberty and all the maturation processes that go along with it (bone, brain, sexual organs, etc) are treated as unimportant or not real. Let alone the obvious extreme medical and psychological implications of cross-sex hormones and cutting off genitals and breasts. You need to have powerful, highly informed gender critical voices on your show such as Kara Dansky, Keira Bell (detransitioner), Lily Maynard, Meghan Murphy, and representatives of Fair Play for Women, 4th Wave Now, LGB Alliance USA, WHRC USA (Women's Hum.RightsCampaing).

Being female is not a costume, nor a creation of men, nor something that can be chosen. It is not something we take on and off, depending on the day. It is a biological fact. I hope sevender below does not unsubscribe and I hope Taibbi does not remove his/her post nor mine. We need this debate and it is ok to have it here. Adults can do what they want but children and teens are not capable of making these life-changing decisions. In England a lawsuit was just decided by the courts in favor of a person who underwent the whole transformation as a teen and lived to regret it. We need more pushback here too.

The guest felt evasive and uninformed (states with anti-transgender laws).

But more importantly the guest was boring, and lacked anything interesting or original to say, instead it seemed to be talking points and unnamed studies that were referenced to as if they were credible.

The claim of the scientific consensus and validity of interdisciplinary groups (with an aligned purpose!) as unbiased judges was laughable.

Last point: it makes no sense to have the Substack subscribers wait for extra content. I would just drop the entire thing on substack as one long video, & then like a day later drop the free portion on the other platforms.

Good show, but here are some suggestions:

1) If you want to grow the audience I suggest making the free segments at least 1 hour. Less than 1 hour a week? That ain't it chief.

2) This ep seemed very unbalanced. There was like 30 min. of banter & 15 min. or so of interview with the guest.

As far the topic I don't think we should perform reassignment proceedures on children, for what I see as being obvious reasons. You can refer to studies that support reassignment in kids, etc.; from what I have seen they are in the minority in regards to scientific opinion. This issue is being exploited by political/media actors & some portion of the medical community for fun & profit. Then of course you have the honest actors, often Trans themselves, who seem to be so blinded by their own traumatic experiences or the experiences of someone they know that they don't have an issue with subjecting kids to new types of medical proceedures, etc. Let little girls live as boys if they want & vice versa, but making physical changes has long term consequences. There are many societies throughout history that have incorporated Trans people as opposed to rejecting them. This should be the goal; at its best the movement to allow kids to transition is horribly misguided & at its worst it is more exploitation.

Regarding Kamala, they were just trying to get out ahead of the bad press that comes with living in a staffed fortress. I would imagine that is why she is stuck there: personal security for herself & her family. However, her PR people fucked up again; this actually makes her look worse. "I would rather retire to the country; this is so bothersome!" etc. Kamala is basking in a whole new level of gentrification she never would have dreamed possible.

I’m not going to watch this episode. I might unsubscribe through. This is due to extensive exposure to trans activists. Not too little.

And - a little bit more on Kamala Harris:

http://reason.com/archives/2018/08/21/backpage-founders-larkin-and-lacey-speak

Kamala Harris' office accused him of pimping, including some counts involving minors. The Texas state attorney general said he was "making money off...modern-day slavery."

Lacey and Larkin were also arrested and charged with "conspiracy to commit pimping." They spent four days jailed in Sacramento, California. Harris, who at the time was running for the U.S. Senate, called them "despicable" and labeled Backpage "the world's top online brothel."

News of the arrest was covered extensively in major media outlets, with Harris quoted prominently. Her complaint was that bad actors and teenagers sometimes used the site—and her evidence that Backpage "knew" this to be true was that it reported suspected underage ads to NCMEC and cooperated with police. Harris was using Backpage's history of working with law enforcement against it.

"Make no mistake," said Lacey and Larkin in statement that month. "Harris has won all that she was looking to win when she had us arrested. Like Sheriff Arpaio, she issued her sanctimonious public statement, controlled her media cycle and got her 'perp walk' on the evening news." While such targeting was not new to them, this was the first time a state had decided it was "okay to consider the First Amendment implications after, not before, hauling people off to jail."

In early December, a Sacramento Superior Court judge dismissed the case. On December 23, with just a few days left in office, Harris tried again, filing new conspiracy-to-commit-pimping charges against Lacey, Larkin, and Ferrer, along with allegations of money laundering. Ferrer also faced 12 counts of pimping. Again, all pimping and conspiracy charges were dismissed, though the judge allowed a money-laundering case to proceed.

"We've never, ever broken the law," Larkin says. "Never have, never wanted to. This isn't really—I know this is probably heresy—this isn't about sex work to me. This is about speech."

"This is the biggest speech battle in America right now," Lacey adds. "The First Amendment isn't about protecting the rights of the McLaughlin Group to speak their mind on television. This is specifically what the fuck it's about. Unpopular speech. Dangerous speech. Speech that threatens the norm. Not only do we have that right, our readers have that right. The [Backpage] posters have that right.

"We spent 40 years doing journalism, groundbreaking journalism, and they want to take all that away," he says—because "they don't like who exercised their constitutional rights to use our advertising platform. And that has no goddamn bearing. The law doesn't say, 'You get to pick and choose who exercises their constitutional rights by whether or not you like their lifestyle.' It's just incredible."

Thanks for having Dr Anderson on. So much of the MSM reporting on these bills only have cis people speaking. Had puberty blockers existed when I was a kid, my life would have turned out a lot better. Cis people have no clue about the struggles we faced. It's important for them to hear this.

Gays engaged with conservatives in a positive way.

Assuming all parents are criminals, and therefore leaving them out of the discussion about their children was a poor move.

At least that’s the Canadian way

Audio, please? Remember, lots of us hafta buy data by the byte, and audio is much more cost-effective at information transmission than video (certainly for talking-heads podcasts). Plus, audio is more flexible to consume.

When Kamala Harris ran for the Senate, her own staff complained about her insistence on traveling in the style to which she wanted to become accustomed - 1st class all the way. I can only hope that she's too obviously in the Clinton/Obama mold to mount a successful presidential run.
