This is the most upside down reporting I've seen in a long time. Shame on you Matt. There is no evidence and if you've seen videos of the Palestinians routinely firing their rifles in the air, at the ground, wherever, you should understand that it is highly likely that they killed her. And why do the Palestinians refuse outside investigation? This is not the first time that the mainstream media (NY Times, LA Times, MSNBC, etc) have found Israel guilty without any evidence. And, many of the past accusations have been proven to be false but they don't get any media attention. Really disappointed in Matt. Katie is a dope anyway so not surprised that she gloms onto this fantasy. Why don't you invite Einat Wilf as a guest so she can explain the errors of your ways.

Ballistic analysis may indeed be incomplete without the bullet at issue. But even without the bullet, a forensic pathologist could analyze the entry and exit characteristics, distance and direction of fire, vitality of the wound, etc.
What I’m getting at, is that even if the shooter was just an Israeli soldier firing off at the concrete wall behind Shireen Abu Akleh - and accidentally struck her right below the ear - that is still considered murder in every other Western nation. It’s called “depraved heart murder.” … Ironically, I don’t think Israel recognizes depraved heart murder.
It’s also interesting that Israel’s Prime Minister, Naftali Bennett, has already been caught fabricating the lie that the killing was caused by nearby Palestinians. However, the video shows that these folks were over 300 yards away (3 football fields) in a city dense with buildings and other constructions. It was also filmed at a different time than the time of the killing. .... What a crooked fool.
This type of violence is Israel's modus operandi.

Watching anything about Israel (there's rarely anything good), Ned Price, Sullivan, Nuland, Blinken (who expressed his regrets for NOT BEING A JEW early on) is tiring. These are just killers, and killers of anyone who is not white, is Muslim, is, is, is...it is exhausting.
The middle east was a nasty, ILLIBERAL place long before Israel or the USA existed, and not much has changed.
The geography, climate and geopolitics of the region (world trade routes invite conquest of one kind or another) as well as the inbred gene pool ensure that colonialist projects such as the establishment of Israel as a colonialist outpost, and "endless regime change" wars on behalf of global bankers and corporations, further doom real political reform there.
There are no "good guys" that haven't already been marginalized or "eliminated".
With that backdrop, the kind of slanted advocacy journalism that MacCleod is engaged in here, working for a media outlet controlled by corporate totalitarians "on the other side" isn't much more than preaching to the (anti-western) choir.
I guess, sadly, there isn't a market for real, objective journalism, so no one is willing to pay journalists to try to be objective.
To be clear, the "spin" that MacCleod is putting on this event is pretty mild by world standards.
What MacCleod omits is that the anti-Israeli forces in the middle east routinely engage in the same kind of barbarism, if not worse.
